Starting in June 2023, I was an active undergraduate researcher in Dr. Piyush Jain's research lab in the Cancer and Genetics Research Complex. Our work was conducted under the Department of Chemical Engineering, and mainly focused on gene editing using CRISPR/Cas systems. We worked on a myriad of projects, from DNA Prime Editing to my own Public Health Honors thesis. My honors thesis project involves the use of CRISPR/Cas9 in eliminating the AcrAB-TolC efflux pump in Escherichia coli.
