From June 2023 to May 2025, I was an active undergraduate researcher in Dr. Piyush Jain's research lab in the Cancer and Genetics Research Complex. Our work was conducted under the Department of Chemical Engineering, and mainly focused on gene editing using CRISPR/Cas systems. We worked on a myriad of projects, from DNA Prime Editing to my own Public Health Honors thesis. My honors thesis project involved the use of CRISPR/Cas9 to knockout genes in Escherichia coli.
